Axminster Chideock Pilgrimage

The event was a great success. There were 25 attendants at the Mass and the visit to the Martyrs Cross led by Canon Richard Meyer . 21 were able to have lunch at the Clock Inn. A very hospitable landlord organised a lovely lunch –two courses and a coffee for only £11.

There were 10 from Axminster including wives and one widow Margaret Bill. Kevin Lazenby was able to get someone to look after Colette whilst he attended Mass and one member of the congregation of St Mary"s Axminster Derek Coupe. Other Brothers and wives came from Southampton, Blandford Forum, Andover, Portsmouth, Isle of Wight and Weymouth Circles from Province 11 and four from West Somerset from Province 13.
We have had many emails of thanks for the event and if we run it next year Brothers from other Circles will encourage others in their Circles to attend. It is a good occasion to meet Brothers and their wives from other Circles and enjoy their company. It also doubled up with our Bi- Monthly lunch.
We had a collection during Mass for the maintenance and upkeep of this gem of English Catholicism the church in Chideock. . It raise £137.11 The trustees were delighted at our generosity.
